re-release! 2x12 inch + dl , gute luft is the result of months of work scoring the hit german tv film 24h berlin - the longest documentary film in history which featured 80 camera teams following the lives of berliners over a 24 hour period. obviously a huge challenge for fehlmann, beyond the scope of the project and hours of music involved in a 24 hour film, there was dealing with the decision making process that went with working with such a large production team. as he shared scoring duties with another musician (separately), inevitably a lot of his music ended up not making the final cut. gute luft is about re-tweaking and editing material from the countless hours of recording he had created. in a sense, gute luft is fehlmanns ideal soundtrack to the 24h berlin documentary.

2020 repress - the first ever 7inch vinyl release from glitterbox recordings is a very special double whammy from the shapeshifters featuring the undeniable voice of teni tinks. the double single features the brand new track try my love (on for size), a re-imagining of the sharon redd disco anthem from 1980. with fresh horns, strings and arrangements produced by simon marlin of the shapeshifters and a sublime new vocal recorded by teni, its as life-affirming and uplifting as a dancefloor belter can get. teni is a session vocalist and arranger who has worked with the likes of rudimental, quincy jones, the jacksons and emeli sande, and has recently been bringing down the house with live pas at glitterbox. working initially with the shapeshifters on when love breaks down he second single on this 7inch package in late 2017, this release showcases in full the stunning results of their collaboration.

slackk first came to the attention of most with an ep of roughneck uk house on numbers, before a series of more emotive, melody-driven records on local action and unknown to the unknown saw him emerge as one of the most unique and influential artists working in the peripheries of grime - taking the genre’s hallmarks and audio tattoos but placing them in a context that owed as much to eastern mood pieces and the complex melodies of classic jazz records, hinting at other key influences on slackks music. his debut album palm tree fire was a particular success: resident advisor calling it a beautiful glimpse into the mind of an under-appreciated producer.

in 1986, uruguayan vocalist and musician mariana ingold took the advice of a storied uruguayan composer and musicologist and recorded her first album (todo depende) for the now legendary label ayuí/tacuabé. in the early ’80s, the introduction of the synthesizer fostered an experimental new approach to traditional candombe rhythms. ingold’s influence on the scene looms large. pairing elegant vocals and majestic harmonies with complex arrangements, she pushed the montevideo-specific sound — loosely termed candombe fusion — in new directions and thrived working collaboratively with artists including eduardo mateo, jaime roos, and hugo fattoruso. with the assistance of chris j. morris, left ear records has extracted a collection of tracks that encapsulate this period between 1986-1991, lifting from her albums todo depende, cambio de clima, and haace calor. full liner notes translated in english and spanish with archival photos included.

moving to london, producing two sell-out records with mall grabs steel city dance discs, and nailing mixes for rinse, nts and boiler room, made 2018 a landmark year for australian-born producer and dj loods. following his extensive touring across the uk and europe, loods has been working away in the studio to produce his classic music company debut. this two-track 12inch marks an impressive label outing for the artist, as title track walking away offers a summer-ready sound with soft keys, a soulful vocal sample and lilting beat. on the b-side is the deep and grooving the feeling, where the burgeoning artist presents another track primed for summer dancefloors with this disco house number.
